Hee -- well, I do an outline for my stories, except for the very short ones. One exception was "Xander's Job": I'd meant it as a one-shot, but I forgot to put "the end" and kept getting all these comments from people who were looking forward to the next chapter. Oops. Maybe I should rethink how I do things, because they story got nominated for a lot of fanfic awards.

Faith appeared in the first chapter of "Xander's Job", and as it went on I thought she didn't have a place in it again. But when I reached the last chapter ... there she was. It was even worse in my one-shot "Xander's Morning". (Huh ... a Xander theme?) That story was supposed to have only one character! But then Xander walked around the corner and -- there she was. I actually thought as I typed it, "Where the heck did you come from?" But instead of a Xander solo story it turned out to be something of a sequel to my previous story, "Faith's Lesson".

Who am I to tell her no? :-) No wonder writers seem to have multiple personalities.
