Two poems my Dad used to recite to us for National Poetry Month

My Dad recited these to us when we were kids.

Dad called the first one Ode the Antiquity of Fleas but the real title is Lines on the Antiquity of Microbes. It's by Strickland Gillilan.

Adam
Had 'em.

and I don't know the title but

A B C D Goldfish
L M N O Goldfish
O S A R

which he "translated" as
Baby see the Goldfish?
Those aren't goldfish.
Oh yes they are.

Although "am no goldfish", which I found online, fits better for the second line.
