Fic: We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us

Title: We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us
Fandom: BtVS
Summary: Willow’s thoughts the night after Xander stops her from destroying the world
Rating: PG
Concrit: Please, in comments
Disclaimer: They aren't mine, not yet, but they will be... once I've taken over the world! Bwah-ha-ha
Note: Written for a prompt at Open on Sunday: enemy. I didn’t actually use the word enemy, but the idea is there.

Note: Mrs. Madison is from the Witch episode. Daryl Epps from Some Assembly Required. Pete Clarner from Beauty and the Beasts. Tucker Wells from The Prom.
Word Count: 101 (with the edit/fix)

Willow lay awake in Xander's bed. He was on the couch. She felt grateful. She didn't want to be where Tara had been shot.

She wasn't sure if Xander was there as friend or guard.

They should kill her. Maybe they still would. Over the years they'd fought humans, humans who'd died or who'd deserved to die. Mrs. Madison. Daryl Epps. Pete Clarner. Tucker Wells. Andrew. Jonathan.

Warren.

Willow turned her head away, but not from what she'd done to Warren. She'd do it again. That's how she knew she was a monster. They should kill her, while they still could.

Walt Kelly/Pogo had it pegged all those years ago and still do. Sad, that!

Poor Willow. But really... Warren was so evil. I never saw killing him as an unforgivable thing.

This is an excellent little piece.

Also, those Knights of Byzantium guys. Evil is all around and even within, and who gets to decide who lives and dies? Especially in a war? Tricky stuff. Thanks for this exploration.

Small edit: That's how she knew she was a monster.

Great look at Willow's guilt and remorse and fear.

Wow you could really feel the emotion in this. I could see everything very clearly. It helped that this episode was on Logo yesterday lol. And she's right. Warren had to die.

This is great. Poor Willow. Don't worry, Giles will help make it better.

Great prompt, btw. Thanks.
