I have been meaning to write up disjointed thoughts about Austen and disability because I just found out she had a brother who was Rich Person Version of Institutionalized, and also I think I read a thing which I have lost the citation of that much of the "oh my poor nerves" stuff in her books was based off her mother/sister(s) having some nebulous hysteria disease (which today may or may not be diagnosed as fibromyalgia or who knows what).

Basically, I have thoughts, and I am getting the twitchy fingers of "I would love to dig through the Austen archives but sadly that is not something I have money/ability to do right now")
