What a relief!

Whew! Looks like third time's the charm. I went to a gynecologist today (third one; longish story) and she told me I don't need to have surgery to remove the fibroid because it'll shrink once I'm in menopause. She also isn't concerned about the thick uterine lining because a second ultrasound showed that it had reduced in size after my period.

So the cyst is now the issue. A good cyst is thin like a balloon and water-filled. Mine has a nodule, which can be bad, but does not have blood flow coming into it, which is great. She'd prefer I get an MRI - involves needles and I have a big phobia - but will let me get away with an ultrasound. I'll be chatting with my therapist on Friday and we'll work out how to handle this.

Happy, happy, happy day!

I don't know, she just said it might. She did tell me to talk to the office that would do the MRI to confirm that. Maybe she's wrong. That would be very nice!

When I had my MRI done they said they'd try without the contrast fluid (that gets administered by needle) and if it looked fine they'd do the scan without the fluid altogether.

I think they only use the contrast fluid if it's difficult seeing the thing they're scanning.
