What a relief!

Whew! Looks like third time's the charm. I went to a gynecologist today (third one; longish story) and she told me I don't need to have surgery to remove the fibroid because it'll shrink once I'm in menopause. She also isn't concerned about the thick uterine lining because a second ultrasound showed that it had reduced in size after my period.

So the cyst is now the issue. A good cyst is thin like a balloon and water-filled. Mine has a nodule, which can be bad, but does not have blood flow coming into it, which is great. She'd prefer I get an MRI - involves needles and I have a big phobia - but will let me get away with an ultrasound. I'll be chatting with my therapist on Friday and we'll work out how to handle this.

Happy, happy, happy day!

I am so glad you got better news!

Needles! EEK! They scare me too. I hate them. I can't even see pictures of them without feeling nauseous and terrified!

Why would the MRI involve needles?

It didn't involve needles the time I had it done, although that was to have my brain scanned.

Is it because they'll need to give you some kind of contrast fluid?

I'm sure you'll be fine.
