Stupid people shouldn't own guns!

My niece posted this article to facebook. I responded with Johnny Cash singing I Hung My Head, but decided I needed to explain further just why this is so disturbing since four more of my relatives liked it.

To sum up, this man is condoning leaving a loaded gun outside (on purpose!), unsupervised, in a residential neighborhood. Damn.

Granted, the gun was on his porch, but in my neighborhood kids are out with their dogs all the time. All it would take was for one dog to walk up to the porch, one kid to follow, and bam! One curious kid. One unsupervised loaded gun. One accident.

All it would take is one pissed off guy seeing that gun and having the brilliant idea to use it to solve the argument with his wife he's just walked out on...

Yeah, I suspect he wrote it without actually doing it, but my problem is the idea that he's condoning leaving guns out. Much stupider to have done it but still not a great idea to write it.
