Kurosawa is awesome. Have you seen Ran yet? IIRC, he didn't even realise that he was doing King Lear until about halfway into shooting...

Persona isn't Bergman's easiest film - it's basically his "Restless", meaning it's something of a headfuck - but I love it. Personally I'd say the most unmissable Bergmans are The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries and Fanny and Alexander.
