I don't know if rabbits like lying on their backs but he certainly looked very relaxed.
For some reason it reminded me of my childhood dog, Jackson. He hated getting baths but he loved being blow-dried after.

Rabbits actually go into a hypnotised like state when put on their backs.
When I had rabbits, and had to clip their claws, I'd hold them in my arm like a baby on their backs. They'd go completely still until I'd put them back down.
Chickens can be hypnotised as well.
