Thanks for the suggestions.

I think it's fairly integral to the computer. It completely died some years back and was brought back to it's factory settings by the young man at the shop. He seemed very competent. Plus the computer is fine as long as I don't access Internet with it. I think Toshiba just f'ed up.

I will take a look at C Cleaner but given the problems with the Internet I'm not sure I'll be able to download it onto this machine.
