I had the Immortal mixed up with the Master for quite a while.

OMG - I have no idea whether I should laugh my ass off or just say "ewww, gross". (Not as gross as 'Amy dates skinned warren in the comics" but still - I can see why you'd find it offputting!)

Have you read Elisi's "My Immortal"?
