Christmas Blues

My neck's been hurting for days (old auto accident) so I finally took a muscle relaxant last night. Ugh. I am completely groggy today and Leslie's guest is coming for lunch, not dinner, so I can't even get in a couple more hours of sleep before I have to start cooking. ;-(

Edited just before noon: I'm feeling better now. Leslie went upstairs to take her shower while I was stirring the risotto. It was quite meditative and definitely picked me up.

Thanks. As I was making the risotto I had the thought that I could be happier if I wanted. I did want. We had a great day. Leslie invited her friend Lou over and Lou brought some Italian eggplant dish. Oh my Goddess, I never thought I would enjoy eggplant! It was a very fun day.

Great food. Leslie's friend Lou brought some Italian eggplant dish - and I wasn't really sure I liked eggplant - but it is fantastic. And she left the rest with us because she has another pan at home!

Being happier is the most reasonable thing to want.
And as a proud member of the eggplant fanclub (how did you, english speaking people, come up with such a name for a poor vegetable, btw?!) I assure you - eggplants are seriously underrated. Had you ever tried eggplant pancakes? Delicious!

Nope. this is my first time trying eggplants. I wasn't sure I was going to like them.
