need help with the British

Giles in the hospital after Darla's attacked Buffy's mother. I have a police officer there. In his own thoughts, how would Giles refer to a cop?

Thanks.

If he's in uniform, probably as "the PC" or "the sergeant". In plain clothes, " the detective". He might be sarcastic and think of him as "the Plod" or even "PC Plod" or "bluebottle", or possibly " cop/copper", though the latter is a trifle dated.

Hope that helps. We do have other slang terms for the police if you need some. He'd probably say "officer" or "constable" to his/her face.

I agree with above. If he's feeling derogatory then maybe 'the filth'.
