food safety in bio class?

So I was packing lunch for tomorrow, putting more food into the containers I used today. Kat, my roommie, talked about food safety and how bacteria have been growing there all day. And then she asked: didn’t you take basic biology?

Did anyone else learn food safety in bio? ‘Cause I sure didn’t.
