Notes: I wrote this in response to a prompt at open_on_sunday: Service. As I was reading through the definitions, employment as a servant caught my interest as something I could work with but it wasn't until I saw the phrase service stairs that I saw Xander in a French maid's outfit. After that, the Spander just wrote itself. ;-)

“I am not wearing that.”

“Now, now, pet,” Spike smirked. “You lost the bet, you get to be in service.”

“I only lost because you cheated,” Xander accused.

“Maybe I did; maybe I didn't. You're still wearing the uniform,” Spike said, shaking the black and white outfit at Xander.

“But its got frills. And a skirt.”

“I think you'll make a pretty French maid,” Spike leered.

Grumbling, Xander took the outfit.

“Don't forget you have to use the service stairs,” Spike called after him.

“Spike?” Xander asked. “There's only one set of stairs into the basement.”

Spike shrugged. “So? Pretend.”

Yeah, but Spike's bossier so only likely to be wearing it 1) if he really wants to and 2) if he's willing to admit he wants to.
