My solstice celebration seems to have involved watching Shaun of the Dead, which I had never seen before and is very good. The return of the sun was symbolized by that disco bit where the one guy was flipping the fuses. It was a very moving and meaningful scene.

It's a moving scene, is it not? A beautiful display of cinematography and an evaluation of the human condition. And Zombies.

I watched World's End - which ends with the Earth returning to simpler times so people will start celebrating the solstice again because the interenet is dead.

Really must get Shaun so I can do the trilogy.

I hadn't even been aware there was a trilogy. The other two are on my queue at the library although there's a bit of a wait.

It was very good. I'd never seen it before.

If you haven't you certainly should watch Hot Fuzz as well.

That movie takes everything that was awesome about the 80's action movies and just cooks it down to perfection.

Comlodge already rec'd it. I've got both Hot Fuzz and World's End on hold at the library. There's a bit of a wait but I'll see them eventually.
