Giles and his (great-) aunts

I've been working on a remix, for Summer of Giles, of Giles' being resurrected as a twelve year old, and it got me thinking about Giles and his aunts. In the comics, Giles has two great-aunts, Lav and Sophie, who use magic and make deals with demons to keep themselves young. Giles, while in the body of a child, has the mind of an adult and has accepted the responsibilities of an adult. Lav and Sophie, both adults but looking much younger than they are, don't have the mind of children but they've never accepted the responsibilities of adulthood. I don't believe that's going to be explored deeply in the comics but it is an interesting set-up for further exploration.

That does sound interesting.

My single (bloody)-minded determination to read all things Giles has got me to the comics from season 9. I will be interesting to see how wee Giles turns out but I suspect it will be as comic relief with bratty behaviour, inappropriate bodily reactions and occasional bits of exposition to help the plot along.

I think your concept of contrasting Giles and his self-obsessed aunts methods of accepting the responsibility of adulthood sounds interesting and I look forward to it eagerly.

I gather the aunts are a long standing Joss invention and he intended to use them on the Ripper spin off series that never got made. Probably would have been more fun there too. Women of any age henpecking Anthony Stewart Head is comedy gold.
