I hate owning a house

So the heat is working today but I'm going to replace the control panel anyway because we're predicted to have 8 - 12" of snow tomorrow and if it goes out again, I won't get anyone in to deal with it until Wednesday.

The part that sucks is that I have no way of knowing if they are scamming me. Since I'm covered by a contract there was no charge for their repair guy to run out here yesterday and maybe they're getting their money back by telling me the control panel is wonky. Or maybe it really is wonky. *sigh*

I hate that part of the equation - the not knowing if something is actually needed. Here's hoping it is.

It is frustrating. I'm now wondering if the problem was both the high wind and the controller. I've had high-winds before with no problem but the controller has only had this issue during the last high wind. Now that the winds are back to normal, it's fine.

If it weren't for this snowstorm, I'd have been considering replacing the heater, but if I'm shelling out $300 bucks now, then that can wait.
