can vamps breathe?

a thread exploring vamp abilities to breathe, smoke, give CPR, etc. Some excellent points. I adore the idea that Angel said he couldn't breathe because he didn't want to admit he didn't know exactly what CPR was.

I always figured that they were going for deep symbolism with that question. Angel's dead. Xander's alive.
