Done. I've deleted my LJ account.

Feels like the end of an era. I started on LJ after my Mom passed away. I'm leaving after her sister died. Sort of a strange bookmarking. ;-(

I'm currently torn between keeping and deleting. I've had my lj for so long now, and it used to be a really big part of my life - plus a lot of the HP communities (and friends I made in them) are still over there and I'd hate to lose them, as most of them aren't that active on DW (particularly the comms).

I've been on LJ less for quite a while now and I cut back even over that after the last "Russian servers" scare, so it wasn't as much for me to delete it.

I regret not getting all my photos - although I might be able to get them on the Wayback machine - and that I didn't save over my more recent Taming the Muse posts, but those all get worked into my stories so they're not completely gone. I just like the track of how many weeks I've posted in a row.

I went on hiatus pretty much after it was taken over by SixApart (which was an age ago, now that I think about it), and came back well after most of the kerfuffle over that had died down. *sigh*

I hope you manage to retrieve your photos! I'm in the process of ensuring I have everything copied to my laptop so I don't lose them. Not that there is that much I couldn't retrieve from elsewhere - mostly my Quiz_SSHG Author banners and my SSHG_Award banners, since both of those communities are long gone (sadly).

I'm sorry they made that the most reasonable option. I'm torn because of the LJ communities I like are staying put for the time being.

Still waiting to get my LJ completely backed up. I'm sure the DW servers are slammed right now.

A number of the LJ communities I follow moved. I was mostly concerned with Taming the Muse because I post each week. During this transition it's what keeps me writing and I'd hate to lose that.
