My car window was smashed-in in two places last night. ;-(       It’s worse now. We opened the front door to get info on the car’s model, and when we shut the door the whole window caved in.

Waiting for the police to come take a look, but I have no way to get to work today.

Well, I actually got information out of it that helped me decide what to do with my car. In early July, it was side swiped. This didn't damage the driveablility of the car but did leave big scratches on two of the doors. The auto body shop decided to replace the doors rather than leaving them and just taking out the scratches and so the cost was more than my car was worth. So Progressive thinks the car has been totaled even though it drives as well as it did. However, it didn't drive really well. It sort of had a rough and shaky drive. So, now that I know damage to my car isn't covered, I've decided to let State Farm (other driver's insurance) have it, take their money, and use it towards a new car. So whoever did this helped me decide how to move on from that other accident.

Kat, my roommate, found a dealer she thinks is trustworthy, and we're going to look at cars on Saturday.

Thanks. I'm nervous. Happily Dad's agreed to help with financing, but I'm worried I'll pick a lemon. My roommate's pushing me to buy quickly and there is some sense to that. I can't get to work without a car. But I don't like to move that fast. I'm taking off work tomorrow - had arranged a ride in - to research used car buying and we're looking on Saturday. *fingers crossed*

Thank you. I am nervous about it. Public transportation doesn't get me to work so I need to replace it quickly.
