Takeaways as I understand them

with Delta variant (vs previous variants)

• people infectious longer
• higher viral load
• slightly more dangerous but much more transmissible
• vaccinated have same viral load as unvaccinated
• vaccinated more likely to get COVID (but disease not as severe in vaccinated)

• vaccinated much less likely to be hospitalized or die
• vaccinated less likely to get ill than unvaccinated

Stores and restaurants here are starting to have signs asking people to wear masks but it's not enforced. The grocery store had many more masked people this week but I was just in Chipotle and no customers (other than me) were masked.

I'm starting physical therapy for my knee and one of the reasons I picked the PT that I did is that I know St Clair Hospital system has continually masked up since the pandemic started. My chiropractor office isn't masking up. I'll see how the PT goes; I may just stop the chiropractor if the PT goes well.
