Thanks for sharing this. It's good to have one more reason to help preserve wildlife in the area. There's very little habitat left in the region, and what is still around is woefully inadequate.
the whole spraying for tick/mosquito control bugs the crap out of me. the people who used to live where we did sprayed, and when we moved in there were zero insects. total. including earthworms. i mean, the soil was also crap, but who does not have earthworms? also pollinators. so yeah. spraying = kill all the good bugs too.
*laughs* When I lived in Pittsburgh - decades ago - I saw a man spraying chemicals on his lawn. He smiled and waved, very friendly like, so I waved back but inside I was thinking, "What are you doing to the world?!?"

also there are some farmers using african guinea fowl as natural tick control (and for eggs/meat/etc).
