HP & alchemy (possibly not PC)

So I'm reading an alchemy book and it says: The symbol of Albedo is the White Queen. I immediately think, "Oh, that's why Albus (Dumbledore) is gay. He's the white queen."

Oh God, genius! *____*

Albus is Albedo, dawn, and Voldemort is Nigredo, death and decomposition. Harry is Rubedo, the final stage.

I really need to write an HP fic asap.

I definitely associate Voldemort with Nigredo. I've seen Rubeus Hagrid associated with Rubedo, based on the name.

Ooh, HP fic. Excellent!

I think that Harry himself fits better the symbology. Harry starts as "potentially dangerous", he's the dark matter, and the during his journey he chooses to be better than Tom Riddle and starts a process of purification.

At the end of book 7 he dies, leaving his past self behind, and then he's resurrected as warrior and hero, but mostly as man. He chooses to fight for the things and people he loves the most and that's passion, but purified and made immortal.

He does fit well.

OH! That's cool.

That is an interesting factoid. I wonder if that is what inspired JKR.

I've read somewhere that Dumbledore's first name, Albus, is a reference to Albedo. Apparently Rowling learned a lot about alchemy before writing the books.

Nice Hermione icon.
