Strong characterization and writing skills carried us through a believable, difficult tale of Giles made young, and gave us a new view of Giles, and his background. We especially enjoyed the vivid way Faith is shown in her dealings with young!Giles.”
In the Middle of a Mistake came in as Runner Up in the Best Giles Romance Fic category. I didn't think it was romancey enough to win so Yay! And the judges' kind words: “We enjoyed this creepy example of a Ripper story, exploring the start of his relationship with Ethan with originality, wit, and foreboding - not forgetting an offscreen role for the Slayer, too.”
