I tried getting into 'Firefly' a while ago, but found the first several episodes a bit too libertarian for me. Am I misreading the show? Also, it didn't help that when asked why there were no aliens in 'Firefly,' Joss Whedon said that he didn't believe in aliens. I totally understand not having aliens in a space show (really!), but that response left wondering how he justified BtVS at all.
