Summary: Written for a prompt at Bite Sized Bits of Fic: Leverage, Parker/Eliot, making snow-angels

“Do it and I'll be your friend,” Parker bargained in that deadpan voice of hers.

“We're not friends.” Eliot felt as if he'd been poleaxed. Not five minutes ago, they'd passed a girl teasing her boyfriend with the same words and Parker had stared at them, as if studying the couple, so closely that the young man had turned and asked, angrily, if there was a problem. It hadn't been difficult to calm the guy down, especially given that Eliot had no qualms about telling anybody that there was just something off about Parker. Still, it hadn't been exactly pleasant, he was rather annoyed at Parker, and damned if he couldn't tell if she was just trying, and failing, to be normal or if she was actually messing with him.

“Come on,” she said, grabbing his arm and trying to pull him onto the snow. He didn't move. She pulled harder. With a sigh he let himself be dragged along.

The things I do for family, he thought as they each fell backwards and started making snow angels.

Summary: Forgetting, Nate is happy for a moment.

“Come on, Nate. I'm freezing,” Sophie said, shivering from the sidewalk. He looked her over: no hat, fur coat but a short one, dark Armani pants that the wind must be whipping right through, and high-heeled leather boots that were completely inadequate for a Boston winter.

This was going to be fun. “You can't be cold. You're wearing a fur coat.”

“That only goes down to my waist,” she replied.

In response he let himself fall backwards, onto the snow, and started swinging his arms and legs. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt so happy at least not at first but then it hit him. He'd been out on a dinghy with his family, fishing poles in the water, and his son had squealed in delight each time they'd been spritzed by spindrift.

He stood up, brushed the snow off of his coat, and started walking at an angle calculated to take him across the grass. Without even glancing back once at Sophie, he said, “All right. We'll go back.”
