Shivery Yells

When I was a kid, Dad picked up Charlie Brown's Book of Pumpkin Carols, as best I can remember the titles, which basically contained Christmas carols rewritten with Halloween lyrics.  This one, sung to the tune Silver Bells, was my favorite (and is the only one I recall).

We're on the sidewalks, we're on the porches
Dressed in costumes to scare
Through the cities
We're ringing
The doorbells.

Trick or treating,
Candy eating,
Gooey stuff in our hair,
But the most fun is shrieking out loud.

Shivery Yells. Shivery Yells.
That's the Halloween nitty-gritty.
Moan and groan, leave us alone.
Halloween's just one night a year.
