I’ve been told to write up sets of goals for work. One set should be three leadership goals. Now, I’m a programmer, working on a team of three people: project manager, team lead, and me, the lowly developer. Who am I supposed to be leading? So here’s my stab at it.
1. Find some minions.
Now the goals are supposed to be measurable so I picked a number. I’m not sure where three came from, but four seemed to be too many.
1. Find three minions.
My second leadership goal should be a technical goal, because that has so much to do with leadership.
2. Find some minions with useful skills such as… OK, let’s skip that one.
My third leadership goal should have something to do with valuing diversity and inclusion, as so many mad dictators do.
3. Find three minions from diverse cultural/ethnic backgrounds.
Except that didn’t seem quite measurable enough so,
3. Find at least one non-caucasian or female minion. (Note: or here is the mathematical or meaning said minion can be both non-caucasian and female.)
