It really works
Oct. 18th, 2011 12:09 amI was depressed last week. Actually I've been depressed for a long time, but last week was the first time I stopped writing. As of Monday, I came home from work and zoned out before the tv. On Wednesday, I was reading where I was asked to set goals: from immediate goals, through short-term and mid-range goals, to long-range visions. For my immediate goal I wrote that I'd write, work on my story, an hour each day from Thursday through Saturday.
Instead I wrote an hour each day from Wednesday through Saturday. Every evening I'd be sitting before the tv, feeling depressed, but the thought that I'd written down the goal was enough to get me, usually around eleven at night, to go write for an hour. Amazing.
