I've been scanning old family photos and saw that my Dad was not at my cousin Jen's wedding. This has to mean he wasn't invited. I know there's a rift in the family but I didn't realize it was that strong that far back. ;-(

So I was watching the movie Trumbo which is pretty good. I might get Dad a copy for Christmas. I think he'll like it.

Anyway, Alan Tudyk (Wash in Firefly) plays a screenwriter, one of ninteen who'd been served a subpoena by the House of Unamerican Activities. Background, the movie industry's anti-Communist group was called the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals.

After Trumbo comments about having a little chat with the other side, Tudyk's character replias, "You don't mean the Alliance, do you?"
