So I was watching the movie Trumbo which is pretty good. I might get Dad a copy for Christmas. I think he'll like it.
Anyway, Alan Tudyk (Wash in Firefly) plays a screenwriter, one of ninteen who'd been served a subpoena by the House of Unamerican Activities. Background, the movie industry's anti-Communist group was called the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals.
After Trumbo comments about having a little chat with the other side, Tudyk's character replias, "You don't mean the Alliance, do you?"
