Most of my experience with Kenny Rogers is through my dad and his near constant playing of 'Lady' [/rolls eyes]. I was a much bigger fan of my mom's constant playing of bollywood music, and Paul Anka [/rolls eyes less] ;).
My Mom played country music which I really didn't like: too twangy.
Dad was into Steely Dan, Pink Floyd. In college I remember telling friends what kind of music he was into and their response was, "Wow, that's great music." My response? "No! Yuck. That's Dad music." I did come to appreciate both Mom and Dad's tastes as I got older although I still don't like the really twangy country music.
