No, it works fine - I think maybe it helps that this chapter sticks entirely to one POV (Buffy)? Or maybe I just know Buffy well enough by now to know how she "sounds" in any case it works.
I'm glad you like Zin. I rather made her up at the moment. I sort of needed someone to represent Andrew's research squad.
She's an interesting but unobtrusive OC - there's enough of her here that I want to get to know her better; she provides color but doesn't steal the show or scream "I'm an authorial insert, you must LOVE ME!" *lmao*
when push came to shove, Buffy would take charge. ;-)
But of course! (Do we really trust the fate of the world in Andrew's hands? )
