Good point. I think sb_ashtray does not have that restriction, and accepts all prompts originally posted at sb_fag_ends?

Actually, I have seen at least couple of spuffy stories using this premise. (Sorry, I didn't save the links, there was too much Angel bashing in the both fics.)

Ah, much as I'm not a fan of Angel, I'm not big on bashing the characters just for the heck of it. That kind of stuff takes away from the story.

"He's under some dweebification spell," Xander guessed.

"Yeah, or, he's under the same one as all the rest of the grown-ups." Buffy slowly

approached the diffident young man wearing Spike's face. He ducked his head and averted

his eyes, clearly uneasy under her scrutiny. "William the Bloody," she murmured.

"That is hardly a fitting sobriquet for a gentleman," William protested.

"Gotta agree there, Buff -- this guy doesn't seem like the 'the Bloody' type."

Buffy was still peering at him. "William -- ," she offered hesitantly.

"William Winthorpe Pratt, at your service," William agreed with a slight, awkward

"At my service?" Buffy asked with skyward-arching brows, at the same time as

Xander asked, "Winthorpe?"

"Can't be a trick," Xander opined. "Spike would never tell us his middle name was

Winthorpe."

Buffy sighed her assent. "You ate the candy, didn't you?" she asked resignedly.

"It was rather delectable," William admitted.

Buffy groaned. Just what she needed, another adult in need of a baby-sitter. And

she couldn't even stake him, not when he was being all shy and helpful. Since when did

vampires eat chocolate anyway? Even when he wasn't himself, he managed to be epically

annoying. "Spike!" she expelled in exasperation.

Despite this being directed skyward, William answered her. "I do have recollections

of being this 'Spike' to whom you refer. I assure you, I am not that foul creature!"

Funny how he seemed most Spike-like when he was denying being Spike.

"Whatever, fine. As entertaining as this all is, we still need solve this.
