Willowy Goodness Awards Nominee

Shanshu was nominated at the Willowy Goodness Awards in the Best Willow/Spike Author and Best Willow/Spike Fic categories. Many thanks to whoever nominated me.

Also, I'm not sure I said this, but thanks for the nominations over at the Headline Awards. I'm so psyched!

Day 03

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Mostly Buffyverse:
The Letters (the 84, Charing Cross Road remix): cross-over between Harry Potter and Buffy the Vampire Slayer written for the Circle of Friends remix. I always enjoy taking part in CoF because it takes me outside of my box, allows me to try styles of writing I hadn't before. This story depicts a relationship in letters, e-mails, and wedding invitations.

Pulling a Rabbit Out: Anya/Giles during Tabula Rasa. Humor. “Sex relieves stress. We should have sex.”

One Zombie Two Zombie Red Zombie Dead Zombie: another out-of-the-box story, "The Zeppo" as written by Dr. Seuss.

Sailing Toward the Dawn: I just love this one. Babylon 5 set during the days when Dr. Franklin was hitchiking through the stars. Stephen realizes he isn't just running way. He's running to something, even if he doesn't know what it is yet.

A Note From a Memory You Never Had: BtVS but Fray!verse (comics). The library, abandoned for over a century, is unexpected but not as much as the note left for her.

Feeding: Dark!Willow. This one also depends on the Fray!verse. Willow's first concern when magic returns to the world.

Marzipan: Leverage: Of course teen-age Parker's first adult friend would be a woman the rest of the kids are scared of.

Edited:
I'm adding In a Corner of My Soul. I'm rereading it in preparation of finishing the next chaper or two. I'd forgotten how good it actually is. *grin*

In response to The Letters (Snape/Anya) I got this: Come to think of it, I'd not be surprised to hear that Voldemort is due to a vengeance wish granted by Anya's friend (the one who helps children)....Can't you just picture it? Suddenly little Tom Riddle gets his wish granted in the orphanage...

Okay, I'm not writing it, but I'd love to read it. ;-)

I wrote a short for the Giles Advent Drabble Challenge. You can read it on LJ at Giles Shorts, on AO3, or fanfic.net.

Preview:
He spent the early hours of the evening waiting (hoping) to hear the doorbell, but perhaps carolers didn’t sing at apartments and so Giles - after loading his pockets with a stake, a cross, and Holy Water - went out into the night. Even after four months, he wasn’t used to the weather, which was warmer than London’s by a good ten degrees. The brisk pace he set quickly took Giles into a neighborhood of single family homes.

Instead of the camaraderie of carolers at a door, The Carol of the Birds, sounding as if it had been recorded on synthesized instruments, blared out from someone’s front yard. The house’s Christmas lights blinked on and off in time to the music. Plastic reindeer pulling a sleigh looked about ready to fall from a neighbor’s roof. Looking further down the street, Giles wondered why even an American would display a large plastic chipmunk when the creature’s nose blink red. At least it wasn’t a chipmunk but it was, in fact, the final straw. Giles turned his feet back toward the flat.

The wreath on his front door seemed out of place. The collection of golden jingle bells that had glittered cheerily in the store seemed somehow detached from the traditions of the holiday when hanging on his door. The boughs of evergreen, draped throughout the apartment and topped with red bows, were more traditional and brought forth a nostalgic feeling reminiscent of Christmases from his youth.

... but Louis Armstrong and Annie Lennox are good too!

Louis Armstrong “Zat You, Santa Claus”

All I Want for Christmas is Rupert Giles

Annie Lennox “Angels From the Realms of Glory”. Amazing harmonies, so rich and full.

Well, I had a whole "bring me a man" theme going down until I added Annie Lennox, but, well you know, Annie Lennox!

Since the weather today is crappy and poor Dad’s driving home in a rainstorm, another vid of The Weather Girls singing “Dear Santa” - although that whole black and red cape dance has me thinking of vampires.

And on the Geeky list, more Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with a little Angel thrown in, with Cordelia’s Christmas Wish. Cordelia/Angel and you know, if there are Willow/Angel vids out there, I can't find them.

And at the library today I found Annie Lennox’s Christmas album so … “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”

My Dad is a big Pogo fan. This song is Pogo’s take on the carol. Deck Us All With Boston Charlie

Another take on Deck Us All With Boston Charlie:

Buffy/Spike “Our Love Will Dry Out On Christmas”
dragonyphoenix: Blackadder looking at scraps of paper, saying "It could use a beta" (snoopy xmas)
Charles Brown “Merry Christmas Baby”

Nico the Vampire Santa Slayer. I think the key question here is "Say, you all didn't happen to do a bunch of drugs, did ya?”

You can buy an Orb of Thesula from Amazon. From the description: Thesulan orbs also make great paperweights for your home, or office.
dragonyphoenix: Blackadder looking at scraps of paper, saying "It could use a beta" (The 13 Clocks xmas)
The Youngsters “Christmas in Jail”

Buffy the Vampire Slayer; “Merry Christmas Everyone”. Sadly, I have no idea who sings this. The vid just doesn’t say, which is too bad because it’s a nice song.
dragonyphoenix: Death as the Hogfather (santa muerte)
Christmas Blues, James Brown “Santa Claus, Go Straight to the Ghetto”

Geeky Christmas, The cast of Black Christmas to the Buffy theme song. An escaped maniac / serial killer in a sorority house. What could be more Christmasy?

and if, like me, you aren’t familiar with Black Christmas,
dragonyphoenix: Blackadder looking at scraps of paper, saying "It could use a beta" (snoopy xmas)
Just like the Snoopy dance only jazzier.

Mabel Scott “Boogie Woogie Sana Claus”

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Amends episode; Dean Martin “Let It Snow”
dragonyphoenix: Death as the Hogfather (santa muerte)
Dig That Crazy Santa Claus ... all the little hep cats jump for joy

The return of geeky Christmas fanvids: Buffy/Angel Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas"
dragonyphoenix: Blackadder looking at scraps of paper, saying "It could use a beta" (The 13 Clocks xmas)
About three decades back, I taped a series of Christmas Specials from The Blues Plate Special on WPFW. My favorite set were the Silly Santa Songs which also included Sexy Santa Songs. In memory, I give you a month’s worth of Sexy and Silly Santa Songs, starting with Big John Greer’s “We Want To See Santa Do the Mambo”

As I was looking for Sexy Santa Songs, I ran across a crossover with Stargate: Atlantis that I will be sharing later this month, but that started me on Geeky Advent Songs. Today’s offering, which could also make the Silly Santa Songs list, features Buffy the Vampire Slayer and “All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth”.

Prepping for Christmas vid month, I ran across these. They aren't Chrismasy per se, but are listed as Christmas Wishes so I believe they were made as Christmas presents.

I'm not a Dr. Who fan, but I don like this crossover with Buffy:

I don't watch either of these shows - I don't even know what LotS stands for - but I like the vid:
