Summary: Written for a challenge: "The last man on earth sits alone in a room.   There is a knock on the door."
Category: Instead of an actualy story, I came up with this bit of fluff.  Anyone besides me old enough to get this?

The last man on earth sits alone in a room.   There is a knock on the door.  "Hello?" he asks tentatively.

"Candygram."

Warily he inches towards the door.  "I didn't order any candy."

"Jehova's Witness."

(And am I correct in assuming that the "candygram" reference is to Blazing Saddles?)

No! I'm about to sit down to Young Frankenstein but it's obviously been way too long since I've seen Blazing Saddles since I don't even remember the candygram reference.

It's based on an old Saturday Night Live skit. On the other side of the door is a "Land shark!"
