Notes: Written for a prompt at Open on Sunday: family (but written after the prompt closed)

Watching them walk past, Willow and Xander on either side of Buffy – their easy camaraderie making them look like a family – reminded Angelus of that first time Dru had become aware. She’d been in the center as well with one sister on either side. Glaring back with a frightened gaze, she’d wrapped her arms around them like a shield, scurrying her sisters down the street to the imagined safety of home and relations.

Family weakens you. Dru, in trying to save her sisters, had brought that lesson crashing down, destroying everything she’d loved. Now it was time to teach Buffy.

Geeze, can I say you got Angelus creepy voice down to a tee. This really foreshadowed the events in season 2 of Buffy.

Thank you. I just adore writing Angelus. I'm not sure why but it's fun to write someone who doesn't care what anyone else thinks!

Interesting take on Angelus' torment of Buffy. It certainly fits his character.
