Of no, it wasn't me falling, Leslie - roommie with the broken foot - fell. She had an appointment with her foot doctor at 10. I was out doing something with the car. She came down the stairs on her butt 'cause it's easier that way and as she was standing the rolling chair she uses to get around got pushed and the movement must have distracted her because down she went. She fell so hard she cut her finger. We tossed a couple of bandages on it and went to her appointment.
After, around 11:30, she called her regular doctor and made an appointment to be seen at 2:30. Since the three steps into the house - up from curb, up onto stoop, and up into house - terrify her (with reason. She's fallen twice coming up the curb.) we went to the library which has a ramp. She put some books on hold and I picked up a hold - Jemisin's
The Fifth Season which is proving to be excellent. She wasn't hungry but I went and got some lunch. We made it to the doctor's appointment and I waited a good hour while she was in there. Apparently it didn't need stiches, just some sort of bringing skin together glue.
Of course after that we had to get her prescription. It wasn't ready but took only five minutes. Then she took me out to dinner at a local Chinese place. Back at home (about a quarter after 5!), we used a chair to get her up the steps. I'd put the chari at the top of a step, she'd sit on it, twist around, and get back onto her crutches. Much safer than hopping up.
Blah! I'm not the one on crutches and even I was exhasuted. Happily, for me, there was a new
Seduction by Aviation chapter when I got home. Leslie's online working to make up for lost hours.
