Heats not working in my house. The tech was scheduled to come between 3 & 6 today but he's on a massively time-consuming call. They've scheduled me for first thing tomorrow morning but now I've got to get through a night with the temps going down to 29 degrees.

I'm concerned about the pipes. I've been reading that I can leave a trickle of water or turn them off completely. Not sure which way to go.

Thanks. The tech's here now. I was able to keep the temp steady yesterday with two space heaters and the oven. When I put a couple of pots of water to boil, the temp even went up! So we didn't even get near a danger zone for pipes. Yay.

when we played WoW and our basement used to get cold, we could get the room to warm up by logging onto a crowded server and going to a capital city or something. the computers would get super warm and the room went up to you-can-feel-your-toes.

also if you still have incadescent lightbulbs, the fact that they inefficiently convert some energy to heat instead of light is GREAT when it's cold

I had been thinking it would be nice to have more computers right now!

I'm currently waiting to see if they have the parts local or if the part will have to be shipped in, read: can fix today or will have to wait 'till tomorrow.
