dragonyphoenix: Blackadder looking at scraps of paper, saying "It could use a beta" (Francine angel)

Every time I post from a text, for example whenever I post a story..

LJ puts blank lines between each line

and cuts

the lines

short.

Here is there reply: Thank you for your report. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that text created in a word processor will look the same when pasted as a journal entry. This has to do with the development of the third-party Rich Text editor we are using, and I'm sorry to say we don't have much control over how it will display text that started in a word processor. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Basically, it used to work fine, now it doens't, and we can't do anything about it. I think I may start posting my stories at dreamwidth.

Wow, LJ died for a couple of minutes just as I went to answer this.

I've been putting up with this lately because I'm writing drabble, but it would be really annoying for a longer story!

Actually that has been a problem for a few years now. It all depends on what text editor you use while you write your text before transporting it into your LJ text editor.

You can't really expect LJ to have a solution for all of the many text editors that exist out there.

Just paste the text into the HTLM part of LJ's text editor and the problem should be solved.

Huh, I've never seen this problem before and I haven't changed editors. But if I use the HTML then it removes formatting I've already set up, such as bold and italics, which I can work around but is somewhat annoying.

Thanks for the info though. I really hadn't seen this issues until now.
