Xander again

I'm not keeping my new cat, Xander. He's gotten increasingly aggressive. As far as I can tell it's redirected aggression, which is sort of like projection in a person. Since he'd been abandoned, I can see that he has issues, but I can't even get close to him without him lashing out a claw at me. After he finally got a good scratch in, I decided enough was enough. I feel guilty because he's a very nice and docile cat underneath this, but this is just too much.  ;-(
