For the first one I just had to reboot the computer twice. The Internet problem was at the Comcast server. It was fixed by the time I woke up, and actually wasn't a bad thing. It was 1:30 in the morning and I probably wouldn't have gone to sleep without the Internet dying on me.
It did freak me out though but mostly because this laptop never worked well with dial-up. I thought it was having similar problems with WiFi.
