I'm very reluctant to join these discussions because even the most innocuous statement I make tends to end with me being rounded on by all and sundry. I do have some thinky thoughts but... That really is a shame because I KNOW you would have some fascinating things to say! (And I'm sorry you've been treated badly. Unfortunately I've been there but I suspect everyone in fandom has, and I've hardly had it as bad as many other people.)
I hate to admit that I'm far more circumspect about conversations here than I'd ideally like to be. I don't have the energy (or ego-strength) to get into fights. Not worth it.
Well thanks but I see other comments in other posts that are well thought out and organized. They just seem so much better than anything I write.
I did like having the specific example of "is Buffy a feminist" as a starting point to define feminist from. I found having that very concrete base to be quite helpful.
