I'm writing a fanfic with Giles as the Big Bad and I've finally finished my first draft of "The Puppet Show" episode's rewrite. Damn but that chapter dragged on forever and ever and ever.

Well today I only wrote one scene and it took just a little over an hour. I was close to the end of that chapter. But I am so glad to have it behind me! ;-)

I'm just thrilled that you are still working on it. "Puppet Show" is a silly ep but it's got some great stuff going on (I tend to be an S1 booster at any rate.) I love the parallels between Puppet Show and Restless (Willow's dream.)

Ah, Willow's drama class dream sequence I take it? I do adore the take on Giles' in Willow's drama nightmare. ;-) Actually if we're talking Willow's drama nightmare, then Nightmares has very strong parallels too.

I'm now on the ninth chapter (Nightmares) and have just one more chapter for season 1. Then I have to review the season 1 chapters, decide what changes I want to make, and plot out season 2. I think I'll rewrite and post season 1 before starting drafts of season 2 although that'll leave a large gap in when they get posted.

YES TO ALL OF THIS. This is one of the reason I'm an S1 booster. The series isn't a masterpiece - yet - and the show is still finding it's voice/footing (and in some cases, trying to figure out who the characters are, esp Giles) but the foundation for EVERYTHING to come is laid down right in that first season. You don't have to love it but you can't disregard or dismiss it either.

And Nightmares is one of my favorite eps of S1, and one of the S1 eps I'd recommend to anyone watching the first time because of Willow's dream as you mention but most especially for Buffy's nightmares because that ep is basically the skeleton key to her character's greatest fears.
