reaching out

I was thinking of a movie called Last Night. Spoilers: the world will end at midnight and two people who are holding guns to each others heads, wanting to control their own deaths, ready to shoot each other right before the end, kiss instead. Two people meet, come to trust each other, and kiss just and the world is ending. It's such a life affirming image: life reaching out and growing even in the midst of death.

And isn't that was Megan was doing? Her friend Lenore is posting her final messages to us, will be into February. She's still reaching out.

Ah, thanks for explaining. I know you're busy with real life; glad to know you're not overdoing things by posting then.

I admit it was a shock - the first time - to see a message from pickamix, but after that it settles down. I think it helps.

I'm going to try and respond to people, but in a way I feel like I'm hurting them more than helping by letting her "ghost" linger.

I think it's different for everyone, Lenore (that's certainly the impression I've gotten in various conversations.) I admit it was a shock the first time you PM'd me with the "pickamix" screen name but hey, I PM'd first. I think that is settling down a bit.

Yesterday I couldn't bear the thought of snagging Megan's Purple/Green icon, which I've admired for ages; today I was able to do so.

I have certainly found LJ buffyverse fandom to be a welcoming place (I came on board only three years ago) and I hope you will as well.

The Nikki icon she made for you is beyond awesome, btw.
