Heather Hogan's Top 10 BtVS Femslash Fics includes rebelrsr's awesome story Forging Bonds, which I have been following. It's a terrific read.

I've read none of those as I tend to stay away from epics, but I'm glad you found a story you're enjoying.

I also prefer the shorter stories but I do occasionally get caught up in an epic.
