Jo Walton’s My Real Children was a co-winner at this year's Tiptree Awards an annual literary prize for science fiction or fantasy that expands or explores our understanding of gender. I'm a fan on hers (Walton's) and am doing the happy dance for her. *grin*

It's so cool to see her getting the recognition she deserves.

Yeah, a lot of people who were unhappy with the Hugo clusterfuck brought this up yesterday. Looks like a great list of books overall - will definitely put Walton on my list, and I'm really curious about Memory of Water too.

I think I vaguely recall something with the Hugos. I brought it up because I'm a big Jo Walton fan. And, yep, I'm definitely looking into the other books on the list.

I think it is. I really like her work so it makes me very happy to see she's being noticed.
