The time has come, the walrus said, to speak of many things ... like dumping Windows and buying a Mac. I'm thinking laptop because I don't want to be stuck to one room. Any Mac users out there willing to give me tip on what I should look for and/or avoid with a Mac? I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Thanks. That article is extremely helpful.

Would my Mac work with a Dell monitor?

No video editing. I write, mostly fanfic, and surf the web. I can save everything off my computer onto an 8G drive. I know because I backed it up two switch from my roomie's old computer to my Dad's old computer.

Most monitors (including Dell) will be compatible. You may need a new cable or adapter to connect the monitor to the Mac laptop which has either a USB or a Firewire connector (or something similar), depending on which laptop you get. Not a big deal. It's a standard cable that any computer supplies store will have and the sales "genius" at the Apple store can help you with.
