dragonyphoenix: Blackadder looking at scraps of paper, saying "It could use a beta" (Katchoo)

Okay, I just got the message below through a reader of Shanshu on fanfiction.net. This person has been on ff.net only since late August. As far as I can tell, this site is not a scam. Does anyone else have info?

I think this might be a great opportunity for you: There is a contest for Fanfiction novels at Inkitt. They are looking for full length Fanfiction novels, and previously published works are accepted too.

See the details at inkitt [dot] com [slash] fandom.
Check out the writing guidelines as well, they are pretty strict with those.

Also, If you have original short stories, there are other contests for several different genres! I think these might be great to get some recognition for your work! inkitt [dot] com [slash] contests

I hope this will be useful and you. All the best!

Here is a thread about them on FFnet forums: https://www.fanfiction.net/topic/2872/126212871/General-inkitt-mystery

So, yeah, it's not a scam, their "Terms and Conditions" don't contain anything suspicious and posting your story there won't harm you... but looks like it won't be particularely useful either.

Thanks. The link does mention online critique groups, such as Scribophile. Not for fanfiction, unfortunately, but as I'm hoping to start writing more original works, this may be useful for me. ;-)
