dragonyphoenixOn Christmas Eve, I wrestled with hurt and anger, and I won! Wrestled, however, is too active a term. I’d lit candles. I’d set George Winston’ s December playing. And as I was siting in the relative darkness, my hurt and anger, poof!, just up and went.
Wayne Muller’s book on the Sabbath describes it not as a specific day of the week but as “a time consecrated with our attention, our mindfulness, honoring those quiet forces of grace or spirit that sustain and heal us.” While I have long admired this book, this is the first time I have felt the healing power of Sabbath-time.
